B.E.A.C.H.E.S. 2009-10 Capital Improvement & Programming Campaign for Haulover Beach

The intended use of net income generated from special events is B.E.A.C.H.E.S. Foundation's 2009-10 Capital Improvement & Programming Campaign For Haulover Beach

In keeping with B.E.A.C.H.E.S. mission, the capital improvements are both in harmony with and continue to fulfill the approved Haulover Park Master Plan. B.E.A.C.H.E.S. uses part of the proceeds from both its Program Partnership concession at Haulover Beach, private donations, as well as the proceeds from its scheduled 2009-10 special events at Haulover Beach, for the following activities and projects:

  • Hire a full-time grant writer to help B.E.A.C.H.E.S. provide better physical access for the handicapped public by purchasing wheelchairs, equipment and staff to assist, maintain and administer B.E.A.C.H.E.S. Handicapped Accessibility Program
  • Build additional chickee (tiki) huts for needed shade throughout the beach (a health and safety issue)
  • Expand Haulover’s clothing-optional area with dune plantings and restoration
  • Conduct Sunshine Health Literacy and Save Our Beaches educational programming
  • Train additional volunteers for the Haulover Beach Ambassador Program
