Enforcement of Miami-Dade County Code, Section 26-1, Rule 16(b)
Bathing and swimming; no flotation devices in water

Since April 1, Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department (MDPR) security officers and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's Ocean Rescue Bureau (lifeguards) have stepped up enforcement of the above-cited rule banning flotation devices in the water at any Miami-Dade County public beach.

MDPR has requested B.E.A.C.H.E.S. to share with the community its April 4 news release reiterating this policy. In particular, the Parks Department requests the cooperation of all those attending any party taking place in the near future on any beach under its jurisdiction, including Haulover. Because such events are not park-supervised programs, they are subject to this rule.

IMPORTANT: Please do not take any flotation device into the water. Event organizers, participants, and others are advised to expect enforcement and to govern themselves accordingly.
